Be Prepared for a Natural Disaster!

I got a pamphlet in the mail yesterday "Unprepared is Unprotected" from MEND Mitigation Education for Natural Disasters.

They say that Long Island will experience a dangerous hurricane/coastal storm before 2014. Many Long Island homes will be affected, and they are having meetings on how to prepare.

Some Tips:
  • Talk with your family about emergency evacuation routes, what to expect and how to react to the disaster, stay calm and focused
  • Have food and water stored in your home
  • Keep a first aid kit handy
  • Prepare financially
Determine how much food your family will need for one year.
