A special Veterans Day Ceremony hosted by the Combined Veterans Committee of Riverhead (VFW, American Legion, Fleet Reserve) will take place at the WWI Monument and Eternal Flame on the grounds of the Suffolk County Historical Society (300 West Main St., Riverhead, NY).

Highlights of the ceremony include: Opening prayer, Placing of a memorial wreath, Speech by Phil Cardinale, Town of Riverhead Supervisor, Closing Prayer.At 9:00 am, prior to the ceremony, the Suffolk County Historical Society welcomes attendees inside the building to enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, juice and bagels. All are welcome to view the Society’s current exhibit “Patriots Come Forward: Suffolk County’s Role in the Civil War.”

Atlantis Marine World is offering free admission for all active and retired Armed Forces members with a valid military ID from Wednesday, November 11 through Sunday, November 15, 2009.

The Aquarium wishes to express gratitude and support for the men and women of our Armed Forces who are actively engaged in protecting our country as well as the thousands who have given their lives to secure our freedom.To take advantage of this special promotion, visitors are asked to please present their Armed Forces ID Card at time of purchase.
